The Locusts and Wild Honey NewsletterThis newsletter is a place where survivors can tell their stories. For survivors of sexual and ritual abuse who have been shamed into silence, telling the truth about their lives can be a critical part of their healing. Through our personal stories we can encourage and reassure each other and offer hope. We recognize that sexual abuse is profoundly damaging spiritually and that recovery brings us through places that are spiritually desolate as well as to places where we experience God's spirit moving and healing us. We intend that the newsletter honour the experiences of survivors in all aspects of their journeys. We invite contributions of stories, artwork, songs, prayers and poems written by survivors for publication in future issues of the newsletter. In addition to stories written by survivors, the newsletter has an annotated list of helpful books and resources, and a section for sharing news about upcoming events and conferences related to issues of sexual abuse, ritual abuse, family violence, and spirituality. We hope that the suggested resources and the newsletter itself will be helpful also to clergy who may be called upon to walk with an abuse survivor in a time of crisis. Locusts and Wild Honey Newsletter is a ministry of the Anglican (Episcopal) Church, Diocese of Niagara, Ontario, Canada. This newsletter is available in print to people requesting it. Please check out our selections from a past newsletter. We welcome article submissions for consideration to be published.
